Sunshine, Hot Wings, Cold Beer and Cool Music!

Sunny and 81 degrees! At least that's the forecast for this Saturday, February 17th much to the delight, most certainly, of the hardworking folks of the Vero Beach Sunrise Rotary Club as they prepare to put on the Seventh Annual Florida Craft Brew & Wingfest at Royal Palm Pointe Park in Vero Beach. With over 12 thousand attendees in 2017, this event has become a major attraction on the Treasure Coast.

Admission is free to this family-friendly day of fun featuring over 200 Craft and Micro Brews, two stages, four bands and some of the area's best chicken wings. The day kicks off at 11:30 AM with live rock and surf music by The Humdingers on the west stage and some of your favorite rock memories by The Jacks Band on the east stage. At noon The Independent Chef's Wing Judging will take place at the judges' tent followed by a wing eating contest at 1 PM. Then, at 2 PM the Restaurant Division Wing judging will take place as Dave Scott & the Reckless Shots take the west stage with classic rock and blues and "South Florida's King of Rockabilly" Slip & the Spinouts hits the East stage. This year there will also be a Root Beer competition and that judging will take place at 3 PM. The day wraps up at 4 PM with awards presented on the west state for Best Wings and on the east stage for Best Craft Beer.

Beer tasting will be available at booths throughout the park and attendees can purchase single glasses of select brews. Unlimited tasting bracelets will be sold at the door for $40. Wings can be purchased at booths as well. Kid-friendly food is available for purchase from local Pointe restaurants, including pizza, hamburgers, sodas, and snacks. Pretzel necklaces are a kid favorite and this year the youngsters can participate in root beer tasting. Families can enjoy plenty of shade under the many trees that line the Pointe and lawn chairs and strollers are welcome.

The Florida Craft Brew and Wingfest is dedicated to raising funds for the charitable projects of the Vero Beach Sunrise Rotary Club. In the past 5 years, the club has donated to local and international projects $277,613. There are projects for youth, elderly & the environment including Citrus Elementary, Environmental Learning Center, Growing Healthy Kids, Little Birthday Angels, 6 scholarships, Crime Stoppers and more, with 65 projects just in the past year alone. If you're looking for a fantastic way to spend a sunny Saturday in Vero Beach, head over to the Craft Brew and Wingfest this weekend!

Have a wonderful time and please, don't drink and drive.
